What it does

Blink is a small puck that clips to a laptop lid or monitor and plugs in like any webcam. It tracks your face, facial landmarks, gaze direction, and expressions, and turns them into live Relay input — another vision-based channel into the same amplifier as switches, voice, and gaze glasses.

It's also just a good webcam. The same sensor that drives input tracking serves normal video calls, so the device earns its clip-on spot even before the accessibility features — and the vision compute never touches the computer you're actually working on.

How it works

  • The puck itself stays cheap and low-power: it captures frames and hands them off. The heavy lifting — face detection, landmark tracking, gaze and expression inference — runs on a separate companion device on your local network.
  • Inference results stream back into Relay as ordinary input events, alongside every other Ursa device, rather than as a separate control surface.
  • Nothing leaves the local network. Frames and inferences never touch a cloud server, and the host computer running Relay never spends its own compute budget on vision.
  • Blink is a deliberate architectural departure from Specs' camera-free philosophy — intentionally the one camera-based product in the lineup, for users and situations where camera tracking is viable and preferred over EOG or photodiode sensing.

Blink is intentionally the one camera-based product Ursa makes. Specs exists precisely because many people don't want a camera pointed at them — Blink exists for the people and situations where that tradeoff is fine, and a camera simply tracks better.
